Anyway, what a LOoooooong day...

The difference among us...

Just got back from a business trip...my 2nd in the last 4 weeks!

My connecting flight home departs 20 min after the first one lands. My boss laughed and said "you are not going to make the flight!". That's what he thinks... As I got on the plane, I was calculating how much time I have to run to my next gate. It does not help that I am seated almost the end of plane. It does not help that I am sitted in the window seat with 2 others. It does not help that the AA stewardess kept commenting that it takes about 20 min to completely deplane. It does not help that my flight took off 15 min late.

Then, things started to turn around. The captain announced that it will only take us 1hr 45 min to reach our destination (original was 2hr 30 min). Hmmm.....this is promising. BTW, AA has great Minute Maid Cran Apple. Not for the "carb fainted" types, 1 can is about 50g of carbs! I didn't care. Ok, back to the flight....

Just a couple seats behind me, there was a lady in the same predicament as me, same flight home. She went from disbelief (that she may miss the connection) to anger (as the stupid AA stewardess kept feeding her negative, while true, information of how she will miss the flight and her other options - staying the night at O'hare) to acceptance (that she has NO CHANCE to catch the connection!).

True to the captain's promise, we landed in O'hare with about 40 min to spare! Everyone started to get up to deplane and these 2 "goombahs" next to me were still sitting and yakking. I asked them to let me out as I have about 20 min to catch my connection. I ran as much as I could from gate H6 to G14 wearing my 2.5" pumps and carrying my laptop bag. I got there with 20 min before the schedule departure (total of 10 min!). Panting, strapping myself into the seat, I waited to see if the lady in my last flight was going to show. A few more latecomers did but she didn't. There in lies the difference among us ... "Don't give up till you give it your ALL". I got home (and so did my check-in luggage) to my hubby and baby whom were SOOOOOOO excited to see me (and to know that I did not give up).

Owie!

Hubby called this morning. He slipped on some ice and fell on his side. My hubby has a high tolerance for pain and would avoid any visit to the doctor. The plot thickens...

Then, another call, chest pain, etc.

Then, another email - "going to hospital, see you in a bit" -- (so he has a sense of humor, that's one of the reasons I married the man!)

A little bruised, broken ribs? X-ray was inconclusive, in the meantime, lots of Motrin - hehehehee....

Poor thing!

Wed mornings

Wed mornings are always fun - weekly staff meetings with the boss. Going over "case studies", as he would call it - basically it's what we 'could' do better. Kinda fun...sick I know but I am big advocate of learning from your mistakes. What's the fun in doing everything right all the time - BORING!

Thanks to Tivo

Ever toss around in bed and subconsciously have this nagging thought in your mind? Next thing you know, you are awake - CRAP! It's 3am for crying out loud!

Thanks to my buddy Tivo! Keeps the restless entertained. So, I am all caught up now on my desperate housewives, medium and not to forget ncis. Strange combination, I know, but entertaining. Not bad at all, cut through 30 min of commercial for 3 shows. Great, now I get to go to work like a zombie...

Back to Mulan..

Yesterday was Mulan II. Today, we have regressed to Mulan. Just so we don't miss anything in that old movie! Mulan II songs are still in mind - in the morning when I wake up, when I at work, when I come home...

Weekend with Mulan II

Bought daughter Mulan II this week. We watched it EVERY DAY! You know you watched it too many times when you start humming the songs - "Lesson #1", "I wanna be like other girls". Aaah...can't get them out of my head. OH NO!

Ok, I have to admit, they are catchy songs. I am a Disney fan, very sad but true. There, I admit it! We all have our weaknesses. :-D Here's something to ponder about Disney - have you ever noticed that someone or something dies in all the Disney shows? Name any show and I can tell you who dies/will die/died. There, go discuss among yourselves. Anyway, daughter loves them. She can repeat the words / sounds before the scene comes up - a sign that she watches way too many movies. Quite entertaining to watch her watch them...that's how I spend most of my weekend.

First Post

Hubby created this for me and now I am forced to "blog". This should be very interesting...
