Stopped at Fazoli's drive-thru for a strawberry lemon ice. (Highly recommended refreshing freeze) Paid $1.79 and waited, after 5 min, looked inside - no one at the counter and no freeze! Looked at hubby and his hands were over the horn and I gave him a look "No...". So what does he do? He drove a little closer to the drive-thru window and opened it. The window flung opened with a thug. Next thing you know, the manager came by and apologized for the delay and offered us a big chocolate chip cookie (eating it right now and it's delicious) for our long wait. Within seconds, our freeze came and we were offered breadsticks, which we declined. :-)

Tarzan
Have stopped working at home these past weeks (except for last night - hot deadline) and watching "Tarzan" 2x a day after work with daughter. Watching her sing to the tunes of Phil Collins, puts a smile on my face. Her words are not formed yet but she remembers key words and "sings" along. I am so proud of her. I think she's getting tired of her other DVDs.
We were at Target the other day and Shrek was on display. She repeated all the sentences before the scenes - how freaky is that? She's only a little over two. Hubby and I looked at each other and had the look "ok, way....too much tv."

Blog much?
Have not been blogging much because I've been sleeping through the night. Hmmm...funny, eh? You would hear that from a parent with a newborn. Maybe the stress level has plateaud or I'm just better at handling them now. :-|
New BB
Got my new BB. It's VERY light. Hubby likes it a lot - I miss the keyboard on the old one. This one looks like a cell phone and the voice is 10x better than the old one. The predictive typing called "Suretype" is pretty intuitive. As much as I hated predictive typing on my old Nokia, I was getting used to this one. Keep cancelling my calls instead of disconnecting. I also like the bluetooth handsfree piece. Very convenient.

New BB coming
New BB coming - 7100G - looks like a cell phone. I'm skeptical about it. I like by BB's keyboard but the improved cell phone and speakerphone capability is worth considering. Why am I getting a new one - my "blueberry" does not work in some international countries. Guess where I am travelling next? :-P
War of Gods - FINISHED
Yes, we finished it. We always play together. There some feats my hubby is better at and there are some I'm better. We make a good team. VERY ENJOYABLE Game - highly recommended. Now, it makes other games look pretty shabby.
New golf bag
Went shopping today and found my new Mizuno AeroLite Series - 3.5lbs! Gorgeous. I am a happy lady. Was on sale at the local pro shop. Now, what are we going to do with the other 3 bags? :-) Hubby's going take my Ogio which he loves. It has the Woode system - I didn't fancy it. Mostly because I don't carry that many clubs. We have to sell my old Mizuno bag which started to hurt my back when I walk. Hubby has 2 - Cobra and Mizuno. We always tell our friends that we have extra of everything to make up a foursome!

Golfed...
I golfed today - YES! It was a spontaneous moment for all 3 of us. We picked a day, brought our gear and left work at 4pm sharp! Had a blast. Course was hardly busy and weather was an unseasonal 70+ degrees. There was a nice breeze with blue skies and plenty of sun but not in a scorching way. I did go to the range during lunch just so I would not embarrass myself. Surprisingly, my swing was there, tight but there. I felt comfortable and at ease and knew I would enjoy the aftenoon. My golf mentality is never to shoot for a low round but to focus on the smoothness of my swing to a point of being effortless. I achieved that today. It was nice to hear that from the people you are playing with too. :-)
Think I need a new walking bag though. The Ogio bag is ok but don't believe it was designed for a female golfer at least not for me. Have a Mizuno bag for years but it was starting to strain my back. That means it's time to shop again. I am picky even for a golf bag. It must have enough compartments to store whatever yet light enough you can walk 9 holes carrying it without additional strain on your body and strength. Bad thing is I got the Ogio on sale last year. Hubby likes it, so it's his. Time to shop again - most of the pro shops in town are on sale, trying to clear their 2004 inventory. Also looking for a new ball this year, just to try things out. The Precept MC Lady is ok but I'm looking for something dofferent this year. Not sure what it is yet - distance, spin, feel - can't seem to pinpoint it. It all has to augment my current golf mentality. It's the little changes you add to your golf game that can make a big impact.

Gnocchi
It's a pasta made out of potatoes. Looks like a little cocoon, can be tasty with sauce. Very feeling but still have room for dessert. :-)
Today's meal tops the timers. 1 packet of gnocchi cooks in 10 minutes (2 min cook time, rest of time is boiling water). Take 1 packet of Bob Evans pot roast, put on high in microwave for 5 min, let the meat rest for 2 min and voila - dinner is served! Cheap dinner for two.

Internet blessings
What would we do without the Internet? I just ordered my nieces some gifts for their 1st birthday. Went online and searched for some books and toys, type in their address and CC info and the parcel is on its way - hopefully in time for their birthday surprise.

Little praises...
Checked my BB yesterday and got a msg from the boss. I did good on a project. Felt the week was all worth it now.
War of Gods
Haven't heard of it - look for it at Best Buy PS2 latest game. OMG! Fantastic graphics and great use of controls I never thought can exist with a PS2 game. Hubby got it for me yesterday and playing it all day! :-)

What a week...
Deadlines after another...Thinking about next week - same thing. Overwhelmed, heck ya! Maybe a good dinner out with some iced coffee or margarita would help loosen things up???
Cousins
Just found out there is a new baby coming to the family. That would be cousin #3 for daughter. So far, she has only seen pics of her couz(s). I grew up knowing too many of my couz - I can't say it's all that bad not seeing them all the time. It's one of those love hate relationships - kinda nice to play with but what a pain in the ***! In-laws should be thrilled. They can actually see this grandchild whenever they want.
(Reflecting...) Can't believe it's already April! Life is too short.

Back on track...
Hubby and daughter have antibiotics for their strep. Being on special alert not to "share" things with them. Strep is NOT fun. I have my share of sore throats and I know, because I get a lot of them. Great comeback to start the weekend... :-)
Stress level = diminishing
Sleep level = increasing (counting straight hours)

Spring is here!
How do I know? Road kills, rain and then more rain, temps not in the subzeros...
More importantly, is golf season here yet?? Itching...I know I am going to pay for it for not playing at all in the Winter. Oh well, se la vie. Good excuse to build a handicap at the start of the league..hehehehe.

Blackberry junkie
Forgot to mention that my blackberry was not working for 2 days! I keep staring at my mail - 105 messages - why has it not changed? Emailed and left voicemails to the sys admin - no response. The good thing is the boss' BB is not working either. Other good thing is he does not expect me to return all his emails just because I have a BB.
But...as hubby would put it, I am addicted to it. Yes, I confess. Once I had it, I would not give it up. Gone are the days where you keep a cell phone and a PDA and have 3 repositories for your contacts, sync online when your laptop is turned on and connected to the network, and lose your information when the PDA battery runs out. Been there, done that too many times. With my BB, it's wireless sync! Now my emails, contacts, memos, calendar all sync wirelessly. If anything happens to it, it's all in my mailbox at work anyway. Phew! For those of you non-converts - I AM SO SORRY! I know there is a premium to pay to own one of these. It's an essential in the Corporate world these day. Maybe the ROI is not there for the smaller companies. I'll have to say though that the phone part of the BB is quite weak but used with an earbud handsfree is an improvement.
Yesterday, finally received a call from the sys admin. Nice guy, very accommodating, one of those individuals a manager loves to keep because he does not give lip service and while he does not always return your calls immediately, have confidence that he is working the problem. I have 3 instructions on what to do. Followed them and voila, it's ALIVE! No data loss. Have to custom set my ring tones, etc. Minor details. It's back and I am ever so thankful.
