Bye-bye Mizuno

Ok. I did it! My whole set is now Callaway with exception to my putter. Last week, we went to Golf Galaxy to look for new putters for T. I ended up with a Callaway X18 Gems ladies irons. I was a little skeptical at first since I have never been able to hit a 6-iron comfortably. My first practice swings were amazing. An act of impulse, I bought it! So, here's what's in my golf bag - Callaway GEMS Big Bertha 454 titanium driver, Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead 5,7 and 9-wood and the Callaway X18 GEMS 4 to SW irons and my trusty Mizuno TPM-5. Oh, not to forget my Srixon AD-333 ball.

If only Mizuno makes a "serious" ladies set, I would have hung on to them. So, how did I play with my new set? Well, does a 78 at Diamond Springs say anything? I hated that course 5 yrs ago. My game was still new and we played on a hot afternoon in Fall with lots of bugs. The ravines are killers. Yesterday, the weather was perfect. We had a few minor sprinkles but it was refreshing for a humid day. My game was on - course management, flushed irons and good solid drives. I could not believe it until we tallied up the score. I guess the irons were the final straw to regaining my confidence. I finally worked out the kinks on hitting my woods a couple weeks ago. This will be an interesting season. :-)
