Memorial 2006

We spent 2 days at Manitou Beach, 1.5 hrs from home. The weather was perfect and the heat was one we never expected for memorial weekend. No complaints here. We golfed, fished, ate, laughed and collected lake shells. Our friends learned Alton Brown's square hamburgers while DD consumed 1.5 gallons of milk for 2 days. This was also the most expensive holiday we had. Kohl's had a great sale and everyone got something new. We also shopped at Lowe's and I finally found the perfect orchid for our house. What a great weekend. Hope yours were as much as ours.

Month of finales

Did I ever mention how much I love our TIVO? Unfortunately, it's that time again and my favs are airing their finales. I'll miss Alias (to some extent) and Charmed. Saw West Wing reruns the other day and it's pretty good but not good enough to add a season pass on past shows. Ever watch Criminal Minds? Great Part 1 season finale, they may have killed off one of the hotties but not the main one. Phew! NCIS Part 1 season finale was also interesting with Gibbs losing his memory.

Ok, been up since 1:30am....still can't sleep. Maybe it's the cortizone shot. I dunno, never had one in my life. We had the perfect sleeping weather but I just can't. Going to be a loooonngggg day today.

Allergy season

My symptoms are worsed this year for some reason. After 4 antihistamines, I went in to see the doctor (again). Solution = a cortizone shot for the entire season. Cost $30. That's the cost I paid for 30 days supply of Zrtec. Besides the hip soreness due to the shot, I think this might actually work. My eyes are not as itchy and no more runny nose. Occasionally, I have a sneeze but still better. So far, I'm a happy camper.

I'm taking Spanish classes at work, kinda interesting. Did you know Spanish is 3rd most widely spoken language following Mandarin Chinese and English? It's harder than I thought it would be. This week, we learned verbs (llamarse) and numbers (numeros). Playing BINGO in Spanish was fun. My friend got a surprise when she won. The prize - you get to tell the class your winning BINGO combo out loud in Spanish. hahahhaha.

Golf season 2006

New season...1st day out, played in the local spring festival. Kinda gives me goose bumps when they called out my name on the 1st tee. :-) I can feel the adrenaline and somehow the 1st tee jitters did not get to me (anymore). Had a great 1st drive. We did ok - even par. Unfortunately, my feet and everything else was hurting the next day and we had to withdraw. BUT...we were slotted in 1st flight. Pretty cool.

Got a new golf partner...yes, again. *-) But, it's cool. We had a great time, keep reminding myself it's handicap night. Besides, we have 20 opportunities to get better....and I just realized I am the only female golfer. You know what this means? Longest drive events are all MINE! hehehehe Oh, got new shoes too. 2 of them. One Adidas (cost too much but SOOOOO comfortable) and Nike (just can't passed off a great deal). Can't wait to get out to try them...
