After a week...

It's only been a week since we got home and I noticed some positive changes in my outlook about myself, life and work. Our house is still in a mess but it will always be when you have little kid. People at work kept asking if I'm caught up. I'm not caught up, then again, when will anyone? What's different is I'm not worrying about it and stress level is definitely a 1. It was great to get away for some R&R&R (rest, relaxation and relatives). You don't really appreciate what you have and your accomplishments til you allow yourself to see others' have nots. 2006 has not ended yet but everything I feel seemed like it did. Burn out? Hell ya but I did not even want to admit it. All is good now. I feel the stress pounds just melting away and the feeling is great. I'm ready for Q4 and a great end to yet another great year. If you have any vacation left, take it and try not to cram it with honey to-dos or anything. Great way to let the mind and body take their vacation. Recommend this for all.

Painful end to an incredible season

I have not played in six weeks and played badly in our annual outing yesterday. My drives were there but I could not do anything to contribute to the team. Not even my new X18s helped. I did win one of the longest drives and that's because my only competition was too drunk to hit a decent tee shot. Ok, it did rained hard on us for 2.5 holes and pretty much drizzled after the 2nd hole. These are not conditions I'm used to playing. I need to get out one more time so I don't have this bad taste about the game for next season.

My hometown

A 2 hr drive north of KL is my hometown Ipoh. To me, it also means lots of old childhood memories and good tasting food. When you approach the city, you'll start to see the limestone mountains on both sides of the toll roads. Some are in tact and some disfigured. Limestone when processed and polished becomes marble used for household floors. The city was also once known for its tin mines. We stopped by one of local hangouts - Woolley Food Court. We had chicken rice, rojak and yong tau foo. Yummy....I'll have another opportunity when we are back in town for a few more days.

Jet lag and all else...

It took DD about a week to get over her jet lag but she still wakes up at 5ish. We're getting used to the weather now. It's still hot but the daily pourings bring cooler weather. Humidity still feels like 1500%. We visited my parents yesterday at their KL apt and had chicken rice. Yummy....the chili sauces are just as tasty as the main dish. I would order the food just to have them. Today, we're heading to Alor Setar for a wedding reception and then Penang for a mini vacation. Hehehe, a vacation within a vacation. Then, we're going back to my hometown in Ipoh to visit my parents' relatives. This should be an interesting trip...
