Moved In!

Yes, we are moved in. We have unpacked most of the major things to call this place a home. Hubby has been a saint coordinating all the installs of the appliances and most importantly, our internet connection. We are about 80% up and running in our new home. It's been interesting drying clothes the old way since we do not have our gas dryer hooked up yet. Nonetheless, all is well. This is becoming to feel like OUR home. I like it. It's bigger than expected but has a lot of room for potential. DD loves it and we play catch n run almost everynight. Even not having all the window treatments did not bother me. Just found out we live in a pretty affluent area. Kinda feel out of place knowing that but I guess it's ok. I have neighbors now and never really had any before, so it takes a little adjusting to. I know hubby likes it, I kinda like my privacy when I'm at home. Anyway, love the new home.

Holiday travels

I went on my first trip to Belgium and experienced the horror of Christmas holiday travels in the US. My direct flight from Brussels to Chicago was on time but the domestic flight was cancelled. AA offered no reason for the cancellation and no recourse except to be on standby for their next flight. BTW, they cancelled the last flight out too which means if you are not on the next flight, you are not getting out of Chicago till the next day. As mentioned, they offer no comfort of a hotel if you are stranded in the airport. FYI - the weather was perfect 41 deg which is uncommon for the week of Christmas. I called my sis-in-law and she drove me home in 2 hrs, after been in the airport for 7 hrs from a long 9 hr international flight. THANK YOU!!! Would I fly AA again? Probably because most of my travel are serviced by AA but I think I've learned my lesson that long layovers might not be a bad idea and allow yourself plenty of options. If you're travelling home this holiday, have safe and ontime travels, I don't want to be in your shoes.

Packing frenzy

It's as official as it gets...we're moving this weekend. Kinda excited but not looking fwd to the packing. Hubby is more excited about the packing labels than actually actioning on it. Kinda funny...I suggested using colors to help the movers identify what the boxes are and where they should go to the new home. Something I learned in the manufacturing world. Despite the mess, we are making a lot of progress. The one in one out rule is very helpful to maintain the clutter.

NY&Co

Went shopping yesterday and to my surprise, NY&Co is closing its location at the mall. Kinda depressing. I've enjoyed many outfits there at a very affordable price. Now, the nearest location is in GR.
